        Shop drilling core bits

        When there is a power source nearby, water is not accessible or your machine doesn’t allow you to use a water-cooling system, it will be best to dry drilling. Dry core drill bits can be used with an adapter to have more control over the bit.  At SIMA, we recommend using dry coring bits with materials such as concrete and bricks.

        If you are a DIYer, dry drilling might be easier for you to control the machine. Wet drilling is usually safer because the water flow prevents the dust from creating a mess around you, breathing particles. However, there are a few ventilation systems that help to reduce the cloud of dust in the workplace together with the proper respirator mask you should be wearing. Don’t forget to always wear the necessary safety gear.
